What are your design/photography/video rates? Why aren't they posted on your website?

The rates on our services can vary from project to project, so we quote them as they come. For example, cd art consisting of a 6-panel digipak would obviously be different than album art for a sleeve; or a short, in-studio photo session would be different than an all-day on-location shoot.

Some of our services do have pretty standard rates, but in some cases we package myspace layouts with a photoshoot, or promotional posters with album art, and can give your package a custom price. Just get in touch with your needs, and we'll put together the right package to fit your budget and needs!

We offer VERY competitive FLAT rates, so don't be afraid to ask for prices!
I have a friend/relative/associate with a nice camera and copy of photoshop. Why should I work with New Trigger Media for my project?

The simplest possible answer for this question is "You get what you pay for." There's a story about a photographer who went to visit an old friend and his wife for dinner. He brought along some new prints he had recently shot. The wife commented on them, saying "these are really nice, you must have a really nice camera." At the end of the meal, he commented back "this dinner was delicious, you must have some really nice pots and pans." By choosing us, you're getting quality work from artists experienced with that they're doing. We're not just cooking with good pots and pans over here, but we know how to use them too.

For bands and musicians, something to keep in mind is that all of our artists have music-related backgrounds. We know, first-hand, what it takes to make an impression to fans, and to make your band stick out among thousands of others.

We also have experience with corporate and small business work. Having these two types of experiences allows us to give your corporation or small business a product that sticks out among in the classicly boring and bland business world. Sure, we can do classic, but we're better at innovative.
Exactly what design and media services do you offer?

We offer pretty much everything! We're most commonly used for cd/album art, apparel/merch design, myspace layouts, promotional/press shots, music-related videos, and the other services shown on our site, but we can do so much more. If you don't see what you need on our site, just ask! If we can't do it, we most likley know someone to refer you to.
Exactly what print services do you offer? Is delivery available?

The only print service that we offer "in-house" is screenprinting (up to four colors). Thanks to our friends at www.bzprint.com, we also offer offset printing for business cards, posters, postcards, full-color stickers, full-color vinyl banners, and much much more. We do NOT compete with them for pricing, so please do not ask us to beat their prices. We offer you the same rates, so feel free to print directly with them, but we will gladly save you the time of dealing with two companies. Print products can be picked up at their South Holland, IL office or delivered by their driver for an additional cost (Chicago-land). SOME deliveries will be made free of charge. When placing your order, we'll let you know if you qualify!
Do you use outside designers? How can I become a part of NTM?

As a team, we cover most of the grounds needed for our clients. However, in the event that we should need something that we can't handle on our own, or the workload becomes to great, we will reach out to associates that we trust to get the job done. If you'd like to submit a portfolio for consideration for contract work, feel free to send a link to newtriggermedia@gmail.com. Please let us know what kind of experience you have as well, and your availability as a designer. We're more likely to work with full-time freelancers, than someone who has to balance our work with their own workload, in addition to a day job or school. If you'd like to be an associate, come buy us a drink!
Quotes

Quotes are applicable for up to 30 days. Typically, the price and turnaround we give you is not due to change. Its just not the way we work. BUT, due to the ever-changing workflow, if you wait longer than 30 days to get your project started, it just might happen. We actually HAVE had people ask for a turnaround, then start the job literally 6 months later, and say "you told me you could do this in a few days." Yes, at the time we probably could have.
Proofreading

You are responsible for making sure liner notes and other information on your cd is correct! We will copy/paste from text files, and double and triple check information that we type up, but you are the final eyes to make sure that information is correct (i.e. band member name spellings, contact emails, etc)!
Project direction

Be clear about your project direction! If you have approved the direction on the project and we are well into it, and you decide to change the direction of what we're working on, there will be an additional fee for new artwork. If you tell us you want a 4-panel illustration for your cd art, and before we send the final files over you decide to go with a photo-based cd sleeve, that does not make the illustration work free! THIS DOES NOT APPLY to projects in which we've agreed otherwise, obviously!
Additional changes to designs

Make sure to lay out everything you need when asking for a quote! Once we have sent your final files over, additional changes are an additional cost. Sometimes, we'll make some complimentary changes for you, but if you forgot that you needed your myspace to be coded with extra sections, or forgot that you need a back-side design for that tee, or decided to add another panel to your cd art, its on you.
Payments

Payment is required up front for your project. The only exceptions are projects that are totalling $500 or greater, in which case we will allow a $500 deposit, with the remaining balance to be taken care of before your files are delivered or site goes live. For print projects, full cost is always required up front.

Payments are accepted via Paypal, Credit card (through paypal), Amazon Payments, Chase QuickPay, and Check or Money Order. Any jobs paid with check/money order are not started until the payment has cleared; all other payment methods will get your project rolling immediately!
Providing materials for design work

ALWAYS send us high-resolution (hires) photos or vector logos! Hires photos/vector logos will assure that your project is being created from a quality starting point. If you get your foundation materials from us, you won't have to worry about having these files, as we'll have provided them to you in the best possible quality, as well as most-likely having kept a back-up. If you used an alternate photographer/designer, and only have lores files/logos for your cd art, dvd menu or web layout, you'll end up with blurry or pixelated images. If you'd like us to shoot new photos for you, or re-create a logo, feel free to e-mail us for a quote!
Providing files for print

When providing files for screenprinting, we offer free file preparation. Just be sure to send us hires files of your design (JPGs or PDFs preferred), AT ACTUAL SIZE, and we'll take it from there! If you'd like to send a layered PSD file, that's ok too, but please minimize your file to one spot color per layer!

When providing files for offset printing (posters, postcards, etc), be sure to add .25" to the overall file size (i.e. a 4"x6" print needs to be set up as 4.25"x6.26"), keep your text and information .25" from all edges, and let your background extend to the edge of the file. Files should be in CMYK format, and of course be 300dpi to prevent blurring and pixelization. PDFs are ok, but hires JPGS are actually the preferred format for offset printing.
